The Radon Solution This client just wanted an active passive system for her home regardless after testing she had low levels of radon in her home. She wanted to make sure her health and pets are safe from exposure in the future. She believes that radon is unpredictable, you will never know until the level rises and it might be too late.

What is Radon in a House or Home? Radon is a radioactive gas that has no smell, colour or taste. Radon is produced from the natural radioactive decay of uranium, which is found in all rocks and soils. Radon can also be found in water. Radon escapes from the ground into the air, where it decays and produces further radioactive particles. Those particles can be exposed to humans and cause lung cancer in the long run. A radon mitigation is needed to have this prevented.

Radon Mitigation in an Older Country Home with Open Basement Layout   This recently purchased older country home came with some familiar challenges; an open-concept basement, a large concrete shelf crack, and even exposed soil beneath an oil burner in the back room. While the homeowner chose to move forward with radon mitigation, they understood there would be no guaranteed radon levels due to the structure's condition. The Design Specialist designed a 2-point radon mitigation system to suit the home's layout. Because of the basement’s open design, the exact placement of extraction points wasn’t critical, giving our team the flexibility to maximize airflow and efficiency. The system will exit out the back of the home, which aligned well with the homeowner’s preference for discreet installation. This setup may not offer level guarantees, but it still provides radon reduction and peace of mind in an aging home, making it a smart step toward a safer indoor environment.

Radon Mitigation Before Winter Starts This client's family members were determined to create a safe home for their family after discovering high radon levels in their home, it was around 25 pCi/L. They set clear goals: reduce radon exposure, ensure a healthy environment, and increase property value before the year ends or winter officially starts. Radon Defense Midwest team guided them through the process, explaining each step. With a professional installation completed, the family gave happy feedback as they received confirmation of reduced levels after a few days. Their commitment paid off, transforming their home into a sanctuary, free from the dangers of radon exposure, and restoring their peace of mind.
