The previously installed sump pump system failed to adequately capture and discharge incoming water, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall and snowmelt. This deficiency led to repeated basement leaks and flooding, resulting in damage to stored items such as furniture and tools. The lack of reliable water management underscored the need for a more robust and high-capacity sump pump solution to protect the space from future water intrusion.
The foundation wall exhibited cracking and bowing, clear indicators of structural failure. If left unaddressed, these issues could escalate, leading to significantly more damage and substantially higher repair costs.
The rising water table around the basement had reached such a level that the improvised drainage system could no longer effectively remove the water. This persistent flooding posed significant risks, including the potential for mold growth, damage to personal belongings, and structural integrity issues.
The TripleSafe Sump Pump system had been previously installed in the home and was operating optimally. However, due to the extensive size of the basement and the high water table surrounding it, the system was unable to capture all the water. To ensure the basement remained consistently dry, the installation of a perimeter drainage system was essential.
Due to persistent moisture and poor ventilation, the crawl space developed conditions conducive to rodent infestation. Rats were drawn to the damp environment, nesting within saturated insulation and among stored items. To begin the remediation process, all debris was thoroughly cleared and the compromised insulation was removed, creating a clean and accessible space for the installation of our waterproofing and encapsulation system.
