  I had gotten 4 bids for radon mitigation. 1 sent an email of cost without a visit. 1 gave a cost over the phone and said they’d go over details on the same day they came to do the installation, no visit. 1 came out and seemed totally lost on installation location and said I’d have to hire an electrician or do the electrical myself. Brian of Purple Mountain Radon came out, went over solutions and locations for the system answering any questions I had. When he came back to do the work he spent Friday and a few hours on Saturday completing a nice looking system. He was professional, courteous, made an extra effort to clean up after, and his price was competitive, and best of all he did everything. My radon levels before mitigation were 17.7 pCi/L according to a radon test sent in to first alert for testing, and according to my Airthings constant radon monitor (Amazon). My radon levels now are 0.07 pCi/L. We feel better about spending time in our basement now knowing our air is cleaner and we don’t have to worry about the radiation that radon produces. I would hire Brian and Purple Mountain Radon again without hesitation.

  Our recent experience with Purple Mountain Radon and the owner, Brian, was one of the most pleasant and exceptional experiences we have ever had. If you have concerns about the air quality in your home or are concerned about radon levels then Purple Mountain Radon is the company you should consider!From our first call, Brian was prompt, a great listener who went out of his way to understand our concerns with high levels on radon. He did thorough testing and advised us of the various options in resolving our concerns. We had a Breathe EZ filtration system added to our HVAC system replacing the old disposable filters. This reduced the radon levels some as well as reduced the particle matter in the air circulating through our HVAC. We chose to also have a radon mitigation system installed which has reduced the radon levels to a very safe place.Throughout our experience we found Brian to be knowledgeable, a good listener who made sure we understood every aspect of his work. His rates were very reasonable and we never felt pressured. We were pleased with everything to include the cleanup once the job was complete.

During the initial walk-through he thoroughly answered all my questions and he was able to customize a high-performance design that accommodated my request for placement of the fan and vent pipe for aesthetics. I did my homework and received four quotes for this radon mitigation project. Purple Mountain Radon’s proposal was not only the all-around best one for many reasons, but it was also the cheapest. On installation day Brian worked incredibly hard all day (even after the sun went down), and I didn’t even see him take a break. He is a self-admitted perfectionist and didn’t like the way the vent pipe bent around the eave at the top of the roofline. So he came back the next day and redid that section. That’s the sign of a professional contractor who takes pride in his work and will do the job right. From the beginning of the project, I was very concerned about the possibility that the fan would be so loud I would constantly hear it through the wall to my office where I work every day. Brian went above and beyond and took extra steps to reduce the possibility of fan noise, which involved another trip out to my house. I am extremely happy with the results! Prior to the radon mitigation system Brian installed, the radon level in our house measured 9.5 pCi/L. The post-mitigation level was 1.4 pCi/L. We feel much safer in our home knowing radon is no longer an issue. If you need radon mitigation, your first call should be to Purple Mountain Radon – Brian will take care of you!
