This homeowner in Suffield, CT called us hoping that he would be able to get his crawl space insulated and encapsulated. He knew someone who had theirs done, and it made a big difference for their home. He was excited to get to work on it and knew the products and steps needed already. He knew that his crawl space was causing severe drafts, and had a rodent issue. His floors were also quite cold, his home was humid, and he wanted to be able to fix it.
We were able to help this customer! We utilized our CleanSpace™ crawl space encapuslation system. We started by installing SilverGlo™ foam board insulation to the walls of the crawl space. After that, we laid down dimpled drainage mat. We added our TerraBlock™ floor insulation on top of that. That is followed by installing our CleanSpace™ encapsulation liner. We finished by installing spray foam on the rim joist and over the sill plate. This keeps the humidity low, and the home much better temperature controlled. The homeowner is now excited to spend less on his energy bills and be much more comfortable in his home!
This homeowner in Suffield, CT called us hoping that we would be able to help him with his insulation. He approached us after a friend we had helped last year "raved" about us, and he was excited to have multiple things in his home done at once. One of the things he was intent on insulating was his basement's rim joist the way that we had at his friend's home. (The rim joist is the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the home). The homeowner had gotten an energy audit done, and he had spoken to a different contractor. He did not think the proposed solution (fiberglass batts) was sufficient based off of the friend's experience. He wanted to have spray foam, and he was ready to have it done right away.
We had the perfect solution for this customer! As he requested, we utilized two-part expanding spray foam. We spray this foam in the rim joist and over the sill plate. Insulating the rim joist in this way seals all air leaks -- filling in the cracks and gaps that are present there. This prevents outside air from getting into the home. The homeowner is now very happy, and he is much more comfortable in his home!
This homeowner in Suffield, CT called us during the home building process. They were preparing to move in and noticed that the home was not fully insulated yet. She wanted to ensure that it was properly insulated before they moved in.
We had the perfect solution for this customer. We utilized our RockWool batting. We first had to add metal insulation support rods so that we could hold the insulation up effectively. After that, we added our RockWool insulation. This insulation is a fireproof mineral fiber. Now, the homeowner is excited to have a properly insulated basement!
This homeowner in Suffield, CT reached out to us regarding a family home she had. She was having issues with drafts, cold spots, and missing insulation. The home was older, and she was concerned about it. She found that it was not energy efficient at all, and she was hoping that she would be able to find a solution that would help her keep her energy bills low and keep her family comfortable. She had multiple spaces that needed to be insulated, including a crawl space that was poorly insulated and unencapsulated.
We were able to help this customer! One of the solutions we utilized was our CleanSpace™ crawl space encapsulation system. We first insulated the walls using our SilverGlo™ foam insulation. For the floor, we added a dimpled drainage mat to create a thermal break. We then installed TerraBlock™ floor insulation on top of that. Then, we installed a CleanSpace™ crawl space encapsulation liner over that insulation. We fastened it into both the walls and floor to create a permanent solution for this crawl space. We then added two-part expanding spray foam to the rim joist to ensure that the crawl space was covered. Combined with our other solutions, this homeowner will experience less drafts, warmer floors, lower energy bills, and a much more comfortable home!
This homeowner in Deerfield, MA had been living with ineffective insulation and finally reached us when she realized it was not doing as good of a job insulating the home as it could have been.
We removed the old, soiled insulation and now with a fresh clean slate, we can go in and seal any air leaks that were previously buried under the batts of insulation, which did nothing to stop the the convective loop of heated air from inside the home. We then blew in 20 inches of our TruSoft cellulose, which over the following days settles down to 17 inches, or R70.
Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this home will be far easier to heat and keep comfortable this winter.
