This homeowner in Somers, CT called us hoping that we would be able to fix some of the issues his home was having with cold rooms. When our Home Comfort Specialist arrived in the home, they realized that one of the issues they were having was that their windows were inefficient and thin. There was a lot of conditioned air being loss and even more outside air getting in.
Luckily for this homeowner, we were able to help them out with this. We replaced the old and inefficient windows with our Everlast™ basement windows. These windows feature double pane glass that is treated to reduce heat flow in or out of the glass. They also have vinyl frames and sashes -- meaning they will not rust, rot, or need paint. This homeowner now will have less air leakage in and out of their home as well as a more temperature controlled basement. Plus, it no longer has a rusty, old appearance.
This homeowner in Marlborough, CT called us hoping that we would be able to help her with her basement. She had issues with her home, specifically, she had musty smells and cold floors.
This basement had no insulation. Therefore, the customer was hoping for insulation in the rim joist. The rim joist is the perimeter of the floor framing system along the exterior of the house.
Luckily, we had the perfect solution for this customer. We insulated the basement with two-part closed cell spray foam. This spray foam expands and fills all cracks and gaps in the rim joist and over the sill plate. Now, this home will be much more comfortable, and there are no more air leaks in the basement!
