Pete Lasutschinkow, the homeowner from Newark, DE chose Lawson Home Services for their reputation in providing expert guidance and home maintenance service. The family was concerned about the indoor air quality, dust and allergens, and poor energy efficiency resulting in high energy bills. The team at Lawson ensured to provide solutions tailored to meet the homeowner's needs. Our professionals completed the Platinum Duct Cleaning service and wiped out all the layers of dust buildup you see in the pictures. Additionally, we sealed all leaky ducts with Aeroseal to improve energy efficiency and adequate airflow in the house and installed Breathe EZ UVC Light in the Furnace to improve indoor air quality and reduce future allergen build-up.
Lawson Home Services can do many things to make your home more energy efficient. One very important thing that can be done in nearly every home is to have the dryer vent cleaned out. Not only will this lower your utility bill, it will speed up the time it takes your clothes to dry, and decrease the wear and tear on your dryer. It will also reduce the risk of fire resulting from overheating of the dryer.
While Lawson's tech is there you can ask him about other services we can do at your home, things that not only reduce energy bills, but increase home comfort and increase indoor air quality.
This homeowner called Lawson Home Services because he wanted to reduce dust and allergens in his New Castle, DE home.
The problem was evident when Donnie Lonski, Lawson's trusty duct cleaning technician, opened the hatches and looked deep inside the duct work. Have a look at the "Before" picture - would you want to breathe air that was flowing past all that?
When Donnie finished the job the insides of the ductwork looked like new, as you can see in the "After" picture. The heat exchange coil inside the air handler was also cleaned allowing the HVAC unit to operate much more efficiently.
Last but not least, a Breathe EZ™ Ultraviolet light unit was installed inside the ductwork to sanitize the air and kill airborne microbes.
This home owner should be able to breathe a lot easier now.
This detached brownstone row home, likely built in the late 1800s had an addition built over a previously existing porch. The owner wanted us to make the rooms in this addition warmer in winter.
An Energy Audit conducted by Lawson Home Service found the problem was the way the space under the back porch addition had been enclosed and insulated.
A Dr. Energy Saver's CleanSpace™ Crawlspace Encapsulation System was installed, which included installing SilverGlo™ insulation on the walls, and a thick layer of spray foam on the rim band between the floor joists. With this simple and effective method the insulation hanging from the floor was no longer necessary. The access door was replaced with an air tight EverLastTM Crawl Space Door.
Now the addition room will be comfortable all year long, thanks to the work of Lawson Home Service's hard-working crew.
This three story townhouse, built in 2007, had 7" fiberglass batts on the attic floor. The R value was approximately R18.
This old insulation was removed to provide a totally clean attic floor. This is done so the attic floor can be air sealed, a crucial step in preventing expensive loss of conditioned air into the attic. In addition, it was necessary to re-route the bathroom fans so they terminated properly on the roof, rather than in the attic.
Once all the prep work was thoroughly completed the crew blew in a 17" blanket of TruSoft™ Cellulose insulation, tripling the R-value for a cozy comfortable R60. Kudos crew! The homeowner was happy with the results.
