Andrew and John did a great job installing this exterior radon mitigation system for our customer. They work from home now in their basement and levels were high so they wanted to make sure they were as safe as possible.

Improving Indoor Air Quality with a Crawl Space Radon Mitigation System This home required a two-point radon mitigation system designed to reach both the basement and crawl space areas. With about three feet of headroom, access was the main challenge, but the homeowner’s family cleared the space beforehand to make installation smoother. One extraction point will be cored through the basement slab, with a second added in the crawl space beneath the bedrooms to help reduce humidity. The homeowner also chose an Aspen Air Purifier to further improve indoor air quality, showing a strong commitment to creating a healthier home environment.

High Radon Levels at 28 pCi/L Require Multi-Point Radon Mitigation in Ranch Home   This ranch home previously tested at 28 pCi/L, well above the recommended safety level. To achieve strong radon reduction, a multi-point mitigation system will be installed across both the original basement and the newer addition. In the addition, the sealed sump pit with exterior drain tile will be used as an extraction point, with a second sub-slab point placed about 10 feet away near the sink. In the main basement, three sub-slab extraction points spaced about 10 feet apart will help pull radon from multiple chambers. Both systems will vent through the rim joist or exterior coring, with fans and mufflers mounted on the side of the home for effective radon removal and quieter operation.

A radon mitigation system's extraction point typically goes through the concrete floor and beneath the property, but that wasn't an option for radon removal this time. Chuck's floors were poured with radiant heating elements so we couldn't drill through them. While there are a few options for an extraction point without drilling, we opted for a sump pit extraction point as a solution.
