This homeowner was referred to us by a previous client. Because of where they live, they never had an issue with water penetrating their home. That is until hurricane Ida. During Hurricane Ida, seven inches of water flooded their basement. Since then every time there is a significant amount of rain, water comes up from the floor. Because of the issue and our client's referral, they contacted Basement Systems Of New York to see how we could take care of the issue.
To take care of the issue, we started by creating the trench for our waterproofing system around the entire perimeter of the basement. We then began to fill it with our gravel and perforated pipe before covering everything with a layer of gravel and our trenchdrain. Once covered we applied our FlowGuard waterproofing system on top of everything and tied the system into our patented TripleSafe sump pump system.
Since installing our patented waterproofing system, they have not seen any water in their home. For them, this was the biggest concern because they were tired of getting up in the middle of the night to stay ahead of water coming into their home, as well as the annoyance of having water in their home. By cutting down the wall and supporting their home we could increase the overall space they had in their home. They could not be happier with how their project turned out, but more importantly than anything, they are grateful to have peace of mind restored.
These homeowners contacted Basement Systems Of New York because they had water in their unfinished basement. Unfortunately, they did not know how or where the water was penetrating their home from, they only knew that they could no longer deal with water being in their home.
To fix the issue, we jackhammered around the perimeter of their basement and installed our patented Two-Stage Waterproofing system. As well, we jackhammered two laterals for their system. These laterals were installed, both diagonally and horizontally. By installing these laterals we can ensure that their system will function properly. When water enters their home, it will be caught by our system, directed to our SuperSump Plus sump pump system, and discharged from the home. This comprehensive system will keep their home dry forever.
These homeowners can now rest easy knowing that their home is protected from water penetrating it. Since waterproofing their walkout basement they have been able to regain valuable space that they can use to store their valuables, as well entertain. More importantly than anything they have peace of mind back.
This homeowner had recently just purchased their new home. They decided to call Basement Systems Of New York because they were experiencing structural issues along the back wall of their home, a sagging main girder as well water penetrating their home.
To fix the structural issues on the back wall of their home, we installed PowerBraces. PowerBraces use the weight of the floor joists and the home to counter pressure the earth pushing in on the walls and restore structural integrity.
Then we removed their old screw jacks. Screw jacks are not up to building code. Screw jacks are not ideal because they are temporary, not permanent supports. To properly support this home and ensure that their main girder was not sagging, we replaced their old screw jacks with SmartJacks. Their home is now structurally reinforced, and their home is sound.
We then installed CleanSpace on the walls. This 20 mil thick vapor barrier will catch any water that enters the home. Once the water we catch the water it is directed to our WaterGuard New Slab system and directed out of the home via our sump pump.
Since completing their project they have noticed a tremendous difference in the overall health of their home. More importantly, than anything peace of mind was restored to them. Because of this, they are grateful that they decide to invest in their home and not let a smaller problem become a bigger one.
A concerned homeowner reached out to us due to persistent water infiltration issues in their barn. The barn's floor was severely deteriorated, lacking proper slope for water drainage, and offering insufficient storage accessibility. To address these problems effectively, we embarked on a comprehensive restoration project. Here's how we tackled it:
Creating Proper Drainage: We began by excavating the areas in front of the barn doors to establish the required slope for efficient water management and better utilization of the space.
Forming the Foundation: After achieving the correct depth, we meticulously constructed 2x10 wooden forms to shape the concrete foundation. These forms served as the framework for our concrete work.
Enhancing Structural Integrity: Ensuring long-term stability and strength, we strategically placed both vertical and horizontal rebar, providing the necessary structural support for the concrete slabs.
Pouring New Slabs: With our preparations complete, we proceeded to pour two fresh concrete slabs—one outside the front barn doors and one outside the back barn doors. These slabs would be instrumental in resolving the water infiltration issue.
Barn-Wide Restoration: Our efforts extended to pouring a new concrete slab throughout the entire barn, revitalizing the entire space.
With this comprehensive project completed, the barn has been restored to its former glory. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but it is also now a fully functional space, free from the constant threat of water damage. The homeowners are delighted with their investment in restoring the barn's functionality and appearance.
Our success in transforming this barn demonstrates the importance of addressing foundational issues to create a safe, functional, and visually appealing space. If you're facing similar challenges with your property, don't hesitate to reach out to us. We're here to help you restore and enhance your living spaces.
After living in their home for several months these homeowners realized that they were having issues with their foundation, as well as water and humidity in their home. Because of these reasons, they contacted Basement Systems of New York to see what could be done in order to take care of the issues at hand.
In order to fix the problems that they were having we had to install several different systems that would tie into one cohesive unit. The systems that we ended up using to make this home more comfortable were CleanSpace, WaterGuard, Drainage Matting, and a new slab. By implementing these different systems in their home we have been able to improve the overall health of their home.
Since installing our systems the homeowner has noticed nothing but a sense of relief that they now have a comfortable home that they never want to leave.
