This home had a DIY Sump Pump that ended up clogged, to address this to keep the home dry and healthy we installed a SmartSump pump, drainage system, and a 6 Mil vapor barrier.
This crawlspace had water logged insulation, pooling water, and needed help. To solve this issue we installed a full drainage system to divert water to a TripleSafe Sump Pump and out and away from the foundation. We then laid down a new 6 Mil vapor barrier.
After years of having to get the fiberglass insulation re-stapled up in their crawlspace, these homeowners were ready for a solution that made sense. They asked around and heard about Johns Crawlspace Encapsulation. After doing some research and meeting with a seasoned design specialist they were ready to move ahead! They enjoy how bright their crawlspace is, and are excited that it will truly insulate their homes foundation, effectively lowering their energy bills.
This homeowner knew that fiberglass absorbed water if left open to the elements. Trying to get around this, they attached a vapor barrier to the underside of their home, encasing the insulation. However water vapors still got in, and caused a mold issue. After having a mold company out, they were pointed to John's Waterproofing to keep the space dry and healthy with an encapsulation.
This home's crawlspaces old vapor barrier was not installed properly and the water had been pooling under it, on it, and the moisture was being absorbed by the old fiberglass insulation. This passageway under the home had the old wooden frame rotting under the vapor barrier. To address this waterproofing issue we installed our dimpled drainage matting, insulated it with TerraBlock, and then sealed it all in with Cleanspace. The after photo here is from the work-in-progress stage, showing the layers that go into this encapsulation.
