This homeowner was concerned about the air quality in the home after noticing some rodent and pest activity. They reached out to John's to find a solution. After our free inspection and estimate, our system design specialist met with the homeowner to discuss the best options. Our team began this project by removing all of the insulation and debris from the crawl space. Next our team digs a trench around the interior perimeter to then lay down a perforated pipe into a silt sock to create a secure passage for water to drain to the SuperSump at the lowest point. Then, we install our TerraBlock system. This goes on the dirt floor creating an insulated barrier, separating the home and the earth. Directly on top of the TerraBlock, we install our CleanSpace system, which goes all along the foundation walls, up to the rim joists and is sealed at the footing of the wooden posts with our waterproof tape. We then cover all the vents shut so no outside air can enter. Next, we install our SaniDry Sedona to control the environment, this dehumidifier will help with drying and filtering the air to eliminate damp musty odors and will keep the space at a healthy relative humidity. To ensure a complete and airtight condition, we spray our foam insulation all along the foundation walls, up to the rim joists making sure every crack and void is filled. This type of insulation will make the home much more energy efficient. Lastly, we install our Aspen in the living area of the home. This is the highest performing air filtration system in the world, with three stages of custom designed filters. This will remove large particles like dust and pollen, gasses and odors, and the tiniest of particles like smoke and viruses. These homeowners can be sure their air quality is substantially improved and their home protected for years to come.
There is nothing more frustrating than when you're selling your home and find out your crawl space needs attention. This homeowner had their realtor call us for an inspection and job to be done in a timely manner. The crawl space was wet and the vapor barrier was a mess. We came out cleaned out all the debris and put in a new vapor barrier. This homeowner was relived and sold their home in no time.
Our jobs are primarily repairing older homes from water damage, but more and more often we are doing work on new homes. As we are educating more construction professionals as to why basements and crawlspaces leak, they are calling us out for new construction. This work prevents problems from happening.
This customer found a big mess in their crawlspace with falling insulation, water, rodent infestation and mold. To address the issue we installed a full encapsulation.
This homeowner wanted to create extra storage space so they went to their crawl space and when they saw the condition it was in, they called us up to set up their free estimate and inspection. Our system design specialist met with the homeowners to go over the best game plan to achieve a dry, healthy and stable crawl space. They went forward with the estimate and scheduled the project. We begin by removing all of the debris along with the vapor barrier and fiberglass insulation. Next, we install our SmartDrain system since there was not much water in this crawl space. This system will alert the homeowner of a possible plumbing leak and with an audible alarm and will drain it away to a drywell under the CleanSpace until they can address it. We then install our TerraBlock system onto the dirt floor to create an insulated barrier between the home and earth. This will block any moisture that is trying to make its way up through the ground. Afterwards, we install our CleanSpace system on top of the TerraBlock, on the foundation walls up to the rim joists and on the footing of the wooden posts which is then sealed with our waterproof tape. We cover all of the vents to ensure not outside air comes in. To keep this environment controlled, we install our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier which will effectively eliminate damp and musty odors by drying and filtering the air. This also helps keep the home at a healthy relative humidity. To finish, we install our spray foam insulation onto the foundation walls, making sure to fill every crack and void to guarantee an airtight seal, completely protecting and creating a dry, stable and healthy home.
