Crawl Space Sump Pump Upgrade - Portland, OR

This homes old sump pump was unable to keep up with the homes water issues. It would overfill and water would pool over the old 6 Mil vapor barrier. To address this concern, they knew they would need to have a better system installed with an upgraded sump pump. We did a full encapsulation as replaced the sump pump with a TripleSafe sump pump.

Broken Pipe Leaking into Crawl Space Fiberglass - Portland, OR

When a pipe begins to leak in a crawl space, it can take some time for the homeowners to notice. This pipe had a slow dripping leak that had began to fester and the moldy smell was starting to drift upstairs. Upon inspection the old fiberglass was soaked with water and mold was spreading through it. The homeowners wanted to ensure this issue wouldn't go unnoticed again, so they had our plumbing department fix the pipe and a waterproofing crew encapsulate the space.

Addressing the Crawl Space with the Proper Tools - Portland, OR

To keep the water moving, a sump pump should be installed in the lowest point. This home had caked on mud and rocks that had gathered in this point over the years. Now that grade will help the water flow and be pumped out safely.

Before vs After: TerraBlock Insulation - Portland, OR

Insulation is an important step to keep moisture out of your crawl space and help with your homes energy efficiency. At John's Waterproofing we are able to completely seal the crawl space off from the earth and add moisture protection with TerraBlock insulation. TerraBlock is a 3/4 in. thick and puncture-resistant foam that insulates and helps control the environment in the crawl space. The earth is naturally always cool and applying the TerraBlock helps to keep the temperatures the same year round so that your homes heating/cooling systems don't have to work as hard to keep up with the changing climates, which leads to lower energy bills. It is made of materials that won't rot or grow mold which helps to keep moisture out. It is installed along the crawl space floor and is cut to perfectly fit into each individual space. We seal the TerraBlock in the crawl space with 4 in. thick waterproof tape and anchor it to the base. This ensures that groundwater can't rise up over top the insulation and evaporate into the air causing higher humidity levels. Overall, insulating the crawl space floor is an important step for our encapsulation system to keep your home dry and healthy.

Crawlspace Condensation in Portland

This customer called because they had a musty smell coming into their home from their crawlspace. The crawlspace was dusty, had some moisture on the vapor barrier, and had a strong musty smell. Our crews went in and encapsulated the crawlspace using our CleanSpace Vapor barrier. It is 20 mils thick and is rip resistant to keep animals and bugs out. We also installed our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to help keep the moisture out of the crawlspace and filter the air. After encapsulating the crawlspace the homeowner was so relieved that they didn't have a musty smell coming into their home.
