New homeowners realized their home didnt have waterproofing installed in the basement before it was finished. To protect their investment, they asked John's Waterproofing to come out and pre-emtivly install a waterproofing system before the home could get damaged.
While we had to redo some of the basement to get it sealed up, we were happy to waterproof and re-finish the basement.
The wooden posts in the crawl space are designed to provide support to the floors of the home. Without the wooden posts in the best condition, this can cause homes to settle and the floors to sag. Once the structural damage occurs, this is when homeowners tend to notice that the doors won't shut properly and the foundation can collapse. For this homeowner, they started noticing those structural issues in their home with slants along their floors and wanted John's Waterproofing to come and level out the posts. Upon inspection, we found that they had experienced a lot of water damage, which was causing them to rot and mold. The discoloration and pattern distortion are indicators on the posts where water absorbed into. The white marks at the base of the post is also known as efflorescence. This is a salt mineral deposit that gets left behind on posts or walls after water seeps through. In order to fix this issue, we informed the homeowner about SmartJacks. These are steel adjustable piers that help to stabilize the homes foundation where it is needed. They can re-level the floors and offer proper support to prevent settling. With the new SmartJacks installed, this homeowner feels safer knowing their home is protected.
This homeowner found some concerns with the support in their home and decided to inspect their crawl space. In certain areas, doors weren't closing properly and the floor felt like it was sagging. This was occurring due to the the wooden posts in the crawl space being water damaged and deteriorating. Once the wooden posts absorb moisture, they begin to rot and mold. This makes them unstable and unable to properly support the home. At John's Waterproofing, we are able to fix this issue with SmartJacks. These are steel adjustable piers designed to stabilize the home in areas where the wooden posts no longer can. They are made of materials that won't rot or grow mold, which helps make them durable during any situation. Each year they can also be adjusted to ensure the home is staying steady and supported. Now, this homeowner feels much safer in their home knowing that the foundation is supported and secure.
This homeowner called us first to discuss waterproofing her crawlspace, and then asked if we could also repair her concrete driveway. We let her know that we are experts in both of those fields! After completing a thorough inspection, and presenting her with a no-obligation quote, the homeowner decided to move forward with waterproofing her crawlspace, and with the removal and replacement of her driveway. After finishing waterproofing her crawlspace, we began working on the driveway. It was damaged past the point of being repaired, so we chipped out and removed the old concrete. Next, we laid down our forms, and then poured the new concrete. After it solidified, we gave it a beautiful broom finish! This homeowner was very excited to have her crawlspace waterproofed, and with a spectacular new driveway to boot!
