Before firefighters can conduct live-burn training on a donated structure, the site has to be certified free of dangerous materials. Oak Leaf Environmental was brought in to inspect a residential property in Williamsport, PA, being prepared for a Local Volunteer Fire Department.
Our team completed a full asbestos inspection across the 3,000+ sq. ft. building, testing potential hazardous materials from room to room. Once we confirmed the structure was completely clear and delivered official clearance paperwork, the crew got the green light to move ahead with their training. We're always glad to handle the environmental details that help keep local first responders safe during their drills.
Before our team stepped in, this bathroom space was covered in legacy asbestos-containing floor tiles that posed a risk during future renovations. Oak Leaf Environmental safely contained the area, carefully stripped away the old tile, and mechanically scraped the underlying mastic straight down to the bare subfloor. As shown in the after photo, the room is now completely cleared, thoroughly HEPA-vacuumed, and ready for safe new flooring installation!
Before our team stepped in, this room featured aging, damaged vinyl tile containing asbestos, with exposed black mastic showing underneath. Oak Leaf Environmental safely sealed off the work area, established HEPA negative-air filtration, and carefully removed all remaining tile along with the underlying adhesive. As shown in the after photo, the room is now completely stripped straight down to the bare, smooth concrete—thoroughly cleaned, decontaminated, and ready for a fresh new floor!
