Because of the basement’s open design, the exact placement of extraction points wasn’t critical, giving our team the flexibility to maximize airflow and efficiency. The system will exit out the back of the home, which aligned well with the homeowner’s preference for discreet installation. Radon is a radioactive gas that has no smell, colour or taste. Radon is produced from the natural radioactive decay of uranium, which is found in all rocks and soils. Radon can also be found in water. Radon escapes from the ground into the air, where it decays and produces further radioactive particles. Those particles can be exposed to humans and cause lung cancer in the long run. A radon mitigation is needed to have this prevented.
