Maddison L.’s home in Gray, Maine had concerns with both radon in the air and radon in the water. Air testing showed radon levels averaging 8.9 pCi/L with a maximum reading of 11.7 pCi/L, while water testing revealed radon in water at 7,670 pCi/L and uranium at 31 µg/L, which required treatment to ensure safe household water.
With both air and water needing attention, the home required a comprehensive solution that would address multiple sources of radon exposure.
After:
We installed an Airwell radon-in-water mitigation system to remove radon gas from the water supply, along with a 1054 Evolve mixed-bed filtration unit using anion and zeolite media to address additional water quality concerns. To treat the radon present in the air, we also installed a sub-slab depressurization system.
The result was a fully integrated setup designed to treat both the home’s air and water sources effectively. The installation was clean, organized, and tailored to the home’s layout, giving the homeowner a complete solution and long-term peace of mind.
Another Gray, Maine home now has safer air, cleaner water, and a professionally installed system designed to perform for years to come.
We changed out a filter in a dehumidifier as part of routine prevenative maintenance!
Upon completing the backwash tie-in to the existing PVC drain (kitchen line), we found the line completely plugged. It appeared this had always been an issue since a Fernco was in the middle of the line. If the backwash had remained connected, it could have backed up into the kitchen sink. There had not been enough pitch on the drainage, so we repiped the entire sink line with approximately 60 to 70 feet of new pipe.
The filtration system and reverse osmosis system were placed into operation. We plugged in the filter head, and the system began backwashing properly once the drainage issue was resolved. We also installed the Airwell. Air mitigation was successfully completed.
Before:
Ken L.’s home in Chesterville, Maine had extremely elevated radon in water levels measuring 36,100 pCi/L, which required immediate mitigation. Additional water testing showed the presence of arsenic at 4.0 µg/L along with moderate hardness levels. While most other parameters were within safe ranges, the radon concentration in the well water posed a significant concern because radon can be released into the home’s air during normal water use.
After:
To solve the issue, we installed a 99% efficient Repco Cambridge radon-in-water system with a DAB DTRON 2 booster pump to safely remove radon gas from the water supply before it entered the home’s plumbing system. We also installed a 10" x 54" Evolve ES water softener equipped with SBG2-HP mineral anion resin to improve overall water quality and address additional treatment needs.
The finished installation created a complete water treatment solution that addressed both radon gas removal and water conditioning. The system was installed cleanly and configured for reliable long-term performance.
Another Chesterville, Maine home now has significantly safer water and improved indoor air protection thanks to a comprehensive water treatment system.
Before:
Loretta S. in Boothbay, Maine had a water test that revealed several concerns affecting overall water quality. The analysis showed:
Iron: 0.51 mg/L
Manganese: 0.194 mg/L
Hardness: 81.4 mg/L (moderately hard water)
While the water was safe in many categories, the iron and manganese levels were beginning to affect water clarity, taste, and could lead to staining over time. Loretta wanted a reliable system that would improve water quality throughout the home.
After:
We installed a 10 x 54 Evolve® Standard Water Softener with Vortech Tank and Sweat Jacket, designed to address hardness and improve overall water performance. The Vortech tank technology helps the system regenerate more efficiently while using less water.
The installation was clean and professionally configured, giving Loretta a modern water treatment system designed for consistent performance and improved water quality throughout her home.
Another Boothbay home now enjoys cleaner, better-performing water with a premium Evolve® system.
