Radon Mitigation - Blencoe, IA

Radon Levels Reduced in Home with Concrete Crawlspace and Slab-on-Grade

A homeowner with elevated radon levels—testing at 16 pCi/L above the concrete crawlspace—reached out for help. The crawlspace had 4-foot clearance, making it ideal for mitigation work. Our team installed a radon system with a suction point in the sump, routing up and out alongside the home’s interior tile. Cracks in the concrete were sealed with caulk, and we used spray foam to close gaps where the slab met the crawlspace wall. With a fan cover and muffler installed, the system is quiet and efficient. While one section of the home remains inaccessible, the homeowner is already seeing improved air quality—and considering a second system in the future for full protection.

Cole and Jordan did a fabulous job installing this mitigation system for a customer that was concerned about their high radon levels.

The radon levels of this customer were just a little over the safe range but they still decided to get a radon mitigation system for their home to be protected. They did say that it's better to be safe than sorry!

This home will be soon up for sale but the owner's realtor didn't agree to post it unless it has a radon mitigation system. They had the home tested but regardless of having a low radon level (4.2 pCi/L), it is now a requirement to mitigate for the safety of others.
