The patio behind this home in Haverhill, MA had been gradually settling over the years. The concrete was about 8 inches thick, and the joints throughout the surface were not sealed or protected against water intrusion. As rainwater dripped through the joints, it eventually eroded away the soils beneath the concrete and caused settlement.
The homeowner chose PolyLevel for their solution to raise their sunken concrete, as it was the ideal solution that required no demotion or removal of their existing patio, which would save them time and money.
The PolyLevel process was a success and the slab lifted up to the desired location. To prevent further water from flowing beneath the patio, NexusPro was then installed within all the joints. With this added protection, this patio will be in good condition for years to come.

Our Design Specialist, Jim Meglio, recommended installing PolyLevel and NexusPro to lift and level the aggregate concrete while also preventing cracks and settling in the future. Our installation crew injected the polyurethane foam underneath the slabs, which filled voids that had expanded over the years. With the voids filled, the concrete is instantly lifted, and our installation crew then levels the concrete. With the concrete adjusted, the plastic joint sealant strips had to be removed. We then installed NexusPro seal the joints.
The pool area is now a safe space with the concrete repair completed.
