Jon and Shannon's crawlspace had always been a little damp, causing concerns about the air quality in their home but also the structural integrity of the wooden flooring system. However, this year brought more water into the crawlspace than they had ever had. At one point the crawlspace was completely filled up with water. Considering their boiler was in the crawlspace, that was just one more reason to take action and repair the crawlspace once and for all. After finding Woodford Brothers, as a result of an internet search, they scheduled their free estimate. One of our expert Design Specialists, Lindsay, inspected the crawlspace and drew up a plan to resolve the crawlspace problems for good. The plan included sealing all outside air using the durable crawlspace encapsulation material called CleanSpace and a Super Sump Plus. Once the plan was in place, the work was scheduled to be installed with one of our awesome crews. This one was led by Foreman Matt. Matt and his team did an incredible job and left these homeowners with clean, dry, and usable space. In Constantia, NY, the town hall faced a common problem: a loss of heat and unwanted moisture in its crawlspace. The Design Specialist assigned to this project was Andy. He arrived at the Constantia town hall and met with the concerned officials to assess the situation. Andy carefully inspected the crawlspace, taking note of the heat loss and moisture issues. After a thorough examination, he devised a comprehensive solution to address their concerns. Based on his evaluation, Andy recommended encapsulation along with spray foam insulation on the foundation walls to mitigate the heat loss and moisture problem effectively. Along with his crew, Hunter arrived at the site fully equipped to complete the task. They began by preparing the crawlspace for encapsulation, ensuring a clean and suitable environment for the upcoming installation. Following Andy's plan, Hunter's crew installed Cleanspace, a high-quality vapor barrier, to seal off the crawlspace. This barrier acts as a shield against moisture, preventing it from seeping into the crawlspace and causing further damage. The team meticulously applied the Cleanspace, ensuring a secure and airtight seal. To tackle the issue of heat loss, the crew proceeded to spray foam insulation onto the foundation walls. The spray foam created a barrier, minimizing heat transfer and increasing energy efficiency within the town hall. With expertise and precision, Hunter and his crew carefully covered the entire foundation, leaving no area unprotected. Additionally, to provide enhanced insulation on the dirt floor of the crawlspace, the team installed TerraBlock insulation. This specialized material provides both insulation and moisture resistance, further reducing the potential for heat loss and humidity-related issues. The crew carefully laid out the TerraBlock insulation, ensuring complete coverage across the entire dirt floor. To facilitate easy access and maintenance of the encapsulated crawlspace, the Woodford Brothers team also installed a Turtl access door. This durable and secure access point would allow authorized personnel to enter the crawlspace conveniently whenever needed while still maintaining the encapsulated environment's integrity. After completing the installation of Cleanspace, spray foam insulation, TerraBlock insulation, and the Turtl access door, Hunter and his crew thoroughly inspected their work. They ensured that every component was properly installed, leaving no room for potential issues in the future. The crawlspace encapsulation project provided the town hall with improved energy efficiency, reduced moisture issues, and enhanced durability, ensuring a more comfortable and sustainable environment for years to come.
