During the winter season, the owners of the home noticed that there was more water seeping into their crawl space than any other time of the year. So we did a basic 6 mil vapor barrier installment with spray foam insulation.
The customer had one of our competitors encapsulate their crawlspace. However, he stated they did not do a good job, and wanted us to redo it. SO we fully encapsulated the space and tore out all of the previous jobs products.
As you can see in this before & after this crawl space had standing water and soggy insulation. Installed was a full encapsulation of the crawl space with our Clean Space material which is 20 mils thick and an antimicrobial woven fiber which will keep this crawl space dry for many years.
This home's large crawlspace had a difficult terrain that offered a lot of nooks and crannies for water to sit and fester. To stop water from being an issue we did a dig out to help guide the water to a new TripleSafe sump pump, adding in a drainage pipe system, laid down TerraBlock insulation, CleanSpace insulation, added Spray Foam and SilverGlo.
Oftentimes crawlspaces are insulated with fiberglass, which is problematic. Fiberglass is made to be enclosed on all six sides, for when it isn't, it absorbs moisture and holds it up against the wooden foundation, causing mold and rot. This home had this problem and mold spores were along the homes beams and posts, and the fiberglass was falling from water weight. To address this is provide long term insulation and water protection, we installed a full crawlspace encapsulation.
