This project was fully paid for upfront as the homeowner decided to get his radon mitigation system installed the earliest before winter strikes. The installation started when the pipe was routed out from the sump pump through the drywall and then through the son's closet's top shelf. The homeowner was asking to hide the PVC piping as much as possible so they could still use the top shelf storage. The radon fan will be out through the side of the home towards the patio side out on up. He was concerned about the aesthetic but with there's nothing our techs can do. Everything was in shape!
This client wanted an additional active passive radon system installed. The house was clean and small. The team started the process in a small utility room at the bottom of the stairs in their basement and there was an old existing passive system to the right hand side of the sump pit in which you open the lid and the PVC is about 6 in down. The access to the attic is located in the garage which is uncommon. Homeowner does not believe that there is another crawl space but she was open for the team to search. It was a smooth install and everyone went home happy.
This concerned homeowner's knowledge about radon inspires his entire neighborhood. As she claims to be a pioneer in researching about radon exposure and radon mitigation system, she becomes the neighborhood advocate for indoor air quality. We installed a system for her 2nd home and paid it in full.
This accommodating homeowner shared their positive experience with Iowa Radon Defense on Google and social media. They praised the company for their prompt service and courteous technicians who ensured their home's radon levels were reduced to safe levels.
The client initially told us after she got her free estimate that she was terribly busy and didn't have time for a long sales pitch before the appointment. The team spent a couple hours with her, and she was very deep down. There are now people living in the basement and she was concerned with air quality and radon. She teaches college science and works in water treatment. She also cares for two large huskies. She had a crowded basement with an unfinished storage room. There are storage shelves next to sump pit with exterior drain tiles. As per the plan, one will be moved, the other has been built in but they will remove items from the shelf. The team also moved the big shed from her yard, and everything fell into place.
