A Fresh Start: Repairing and Finishing a Wet Basement in Kent Bridge, Ontario

Problem:

These Kent Bridge homeowners experienced water entering their basement a few times in the last 5 years. They were not only looking for a permanent solution to their leaky basement, but also an attractive finishing option.

Solution:

Here’s what our team did:

  • Waterproofed the leaky basement walls with an in-floor drain which safely move water into the sump pump and away from the home.

  • We removed the lower part of the paneling and wood wall joists, as they were mouldy from the water entering.

  • We installed steel wall joists, which will never rot or grow mould.

  • We installed a radiant wall barrier which helps ensure any leaking water is directed into the in-floor drain.

  • We finished the space with EverLast™ Finished Wall Restoration System, and Thermal Dry carpet, both which are made of inorganic material, so they will never mould or rot!

What a fantastic transformation! We can assure you that these homeowners are thrilled with the results.

Fiberglass Removal and New Cellulose - Kent Bridge, ON

Fiberglass insulation in attics often underperforms- especially in cold weather- and can trap moisture, host pests, and allow air leaks. That’s why removing it is the first step toward a healthier, more energy-efficient home.

We replaced this old fiberglass with high-performance cellulose insulation. It's dense, air-resistant, pest- and fire-resistant, and made from recycled materials. Combined with proper air sealing, it helps keep homes warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer, and more comfortable year-round.

Help for a Wet Basement in Port Lambton, ON

Problem:  This home in Port Lambton had significant and ongoing problems with water entering their basement even during modest rainfalls. Their old sump pump system was outdated, unreliable and needed replacement. The basement environment and the entire home was affected by this humid basement with musty smells and a damp feeling.

Solution: This was an incredible transformation! Our team waterproofed the leaky walls, installed a perimeter drain, installed the best sump pump system on the market (with a battery backup in case of a power outage!) and finished it off with BrightWall® panels.  BrightWall® is a 100% waterproof rigid plastic panelling for unfinished basement walls. It's durable, washable, and will not support the growth of mould or rot.

These homeowners will now enjoy their clean and dry basement and healthier home.

Damp Cold Cellar- Wallaceburg, ON

This cold cellar was suffering from excessive moisture, stale air, and poor insulation — a common issue in spaces without proper airflow or sealing. To tackle the problem, we installed a high-performance Zoeller M63 pump with a two-piece airtight lid, helping to eliminate unwanted moisture right at the source.

To improve energy efficiency and prevent condensation, we applied 3 inches of spray foam insulation to the walls and ceiling. Finally, we installed our powerful SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, which now keeps the air fresh, dry, and conditioned year-round.

Why this matters:
Cold cellars with sealed sumps and spray foam insulation must be properly conditioned. Without airflow and humidity control, these spaces can become stagnant and musty. With our system in place, this homeowner now has a clean, dry, and functional cold cellar.
